Our Cottage

The Old Orchard Cottage dates back to 1730.   It is one of the few cottages that comprise the hamlet of Holbeck,and most of them date back to the same era, all part of The Welbeck Country Estate.

The location is quiet and peaceful,  but only half a mile from the A60 and the A616 roads. 

Joan Brown with occasional help from Sue, our part time housekeeper and daughter Carly provide a friendly atmosphere,  a warm welcome,  ensuring that guests feel at ease with their surroundings. 

Guests will find the colours of the garden seductive, whatever the season,  enjoying the peace and tranquillity, whatever the season, watching wild birds, pheasants and mallards, and in the spring sometimes hear the cuckoo. Our black cat Mr. Tom is often  about during the day .

The garden terrace is adjacent to each Garden Room,  where guests can while away the time,  enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
